At the TLC, Drop-In sports are INCLUSIVE, not exclusive.  Players of all ages, levels and abilities are welcome to participate - this is a family-friendly environment and all players are expected to conduct themselves accordingly.

Please note there is NO SIGN-UP SHEET - organized league play, team play, and practices are NOT permitted during drop-in sport times.

THIS IS SHARED SPACE: For courts sports, when attendance exceeds capacity, it may not be possible to play full games - open play (or rally point play) must be followed where players exhibit a spirit of fair play and rotate throughout the available courts with other players often.

Minimum Age to participate in Drop-In Classes is 14 years old.
 
Checking-In for your Class:
  • TLC Members with RFID wristbands - no need to stop at the front desk! You may proceed directly to the class location.
  • TLC Members or Pass holders without an RFID wristband, please scan your TLC card at the front desk to receive your daily admission Wristband, then proceed to the class location.
  • Participants without a TLC Pass or Membership, please pay for your daily admission wristband at the front desk, and then proceed to the class location. 

Benefit Thru Resistance

July 7 - Aug 20: Mondays and Wednesdays 10:30-11:30 AM  (no class August 4th)
A resistance training and cardio program designed to help older adults develop balance, muscle strength, heart health, and core stability and aids in preventing osteoporosis. 
 

Chisel & Stretch

July 8 - Aug 21: Tuesdays & Thursdays   8:30-9:45 AM
A strength class focusing on total body toning using a combination of stability balls, tubing, free weights, body resistance and flexibility training. An hour spent, not a minute wasted.
 

H.I.I.T & Core

July 7 - Aug 18: Mondays  5:30 - 6:15 PM    (no class August 4th)
A powerful combination of High Intensity Interval Training and core focused exercises. This workout targets your entire body to enhance both cardiovascular fitness and core strength. 
 

Maximum Training

July 8 - Aug 21: Tuesdays & Thursdays  5:30-6:30 PM 
An energizing class combining aerobic, anaerobic, strength and power exercises. Every class features a unique circuit-style workout that you can complete at your own pace. Come enjoy the fun! 
 

Step & Strength

July 7 - Aug 22:  Mondays & Fridays   9:00-10:00 AM      (no class August 4th)

A 60-minute cardio class that strengthens and shapes the lower body one step at a time. Energetic music and choreography create an enjoyable class for all fitness levels!

Come experience an invigorating class that will get your heart pumping and muscles working against the resistance of the water. Whether you are jumping and hopping in the shallow end, or enjoying the range of motion that being suspended in the deep end water provides for your body, you will leave feeling energized and ready for the day! 

Combo Gentle AquaFit  (participants limited to 45)

July 3 - Aug 28  - Tuesdays/Thursdays:   7:00-7:45 AM   &   8:00-8:45 AM

Using music that is easy on the ears and movements that are gentle on the joints, you will leave this class feeling happy and rejuvenated.

General Arena Activity Guidelines

  • AGE & PLAY  Age guidelines MUST be met to participate in TLC scheduled arena activities. Photo ID with Date of Birth may be requested to confirm age category. The age guidelines are based on your age on the day you want to play. Sorry, no exceptions on age and play.
  • SIGN-IN : All participants must register in person at the front desk no sooner than 30 minutes before the session’s start time—early sign-in will not be allowed.
  • WRISTBANDS: Before entering the Arena/Dressing Room area, a wristband and the assigned drop-in wristband must be obtained at the front desk as proof of admission.
  • Formal organized coaching is not permitted during drop-in sessions. Rental time can be booked for coaching/lessons - please ask at the Front Desk.
  • SKATES & CSA HELMETS ARE MANDATORY: All patrons (including adults) are required to wear skates and CSA approved hockey helmets while on the ice.
  • NO FOOD OR BEVERAGES permitted on the ice. Plastic water bottles are permitted.
  • REPORT CONCERNS: Please immediately report any concerns about activities on the ice, bench or change rooms to the Arena Operator.

Stick & Puck:

  • For individual practice, no organized shinny or group coaching permitted. 
  • Max 30 skaters
  • In person sign-in at the front desk is 30 minutes prior to the session start time.
  • Age" is the player’s age on the day of play - no exceptions.
  • Certified Hockey Helmets (CSA standard) are mandatory for all ages. Under-18s are required to wear full gear: skates, neck guard, hockey pants, support cup, hockey gloves, shin/elbow/shoulder pads, and a regulation hockey stick. Adults 18+ require a helmet and gloves at all times.
7 & under years of age:
An adult may be on the ice or in the player’s box for supervision.
 
8-11 years of age:
An adult may be on the ice surface if the child requires assistance, but children will be given priority for places in the session to spend time on the ice. Adults may be in the player’s box for supervision of skaters under 10.
 
Family Stick & Puck (Adult and Child(ren):
Designed to give parents the opportunity to work on passing, puck control and skating with their children - active participation required from an adult (18+)  for every child/youth aged 17 and under. (Max 4 kids with each adult).
 
 

Shinny:

  • NO body checking allowed. NO slap shots.
  • Maximum 24 Players, 4 Goalies
  • All Participants MUST be considerate of other players and allow everyone equal playing time.
  • In-person sign-in at the front desk time is 30 minutes prior to the session start time (45 minutes for Adult shinny).
  • Age" is the player’s age on the day of play - no exceptions.
  • Full hockey equipment: CSA-certified hockey helmet (with full-faced mask for all Under 18s), skates, neck guard, hockey pants, support cup, hockey gloves, shin/elbow/shoulder pads, and regulation hockey stick.
12-14 years 
15-17 years
Adult 18+
 

Ringette:

  • Certified hockey helmets (CSA Standard) are REQUIRED for ALL skaters (including adults) on the ice. Under 18s require full equipment, and Adults 18+ require a helmet and gloves at all times.
  • Ringette drop-in is available for all ages and skill levels
  • Full Gear: A Ringette stick, gloves, shin pads, shoulder pads, neck guards, and elbow pads.

Public Skating:

  • Certified hockey helmets (CSA Standard) are REQUIRED when on the ice for ALL skaters (including ADULTS).  
  • Bike/Snowboard helmets are not permitted.
  • No Sticks and Pucks on the ice during Public Skates.

Leisure Ice: 

  • Available daily for drop-in during Operating hours.
  • Pay to play: A facility wristband is required for access.
  • No Sticks or Pucks allowed (the Leisure ice is surrounded by glass windows).
  • Certified hockey helmets (CSA Standard) are REQUIRED when on the ice for ALL skaters (including ADULTS).  
  • Bike helmets are not permitted.
