General Arena Activity Guidelines
- Kindness is Cool! Please bring positive energy to play at the TLC by treating TLC staff and fellow patrons the way you would like them to treat you!
- Age guidelines MUST be met to participate in TLC scheduled arena activities. Photo ID with Date of Birth may be requested to confirm age category. The age guidelines are based on your age on the day you want to play. Sorry, no exceptions on age and play.
- All Participants must register in person at the front desk no sooner than 30 mins before the session’s start time - early sign-in will not be allowed.
- A wristband and the assigned drop-in wristband must be obtained at the front desk as proof of admission before entering the Arena/Dressing Room area.
- Formal organized coaching is not permitted during drop-in sessions. Rental time can be booked for coaching/lessons - Arena Rentals are now available through our Front Desk!
- Please immediately report any concerns about activities on the ice, bench or change rooms to the Arena Operator.
- Certified Hockey Helmets (CSA Standard) are MANDATORY for everyone (including adults) across all TLC Drop-in Arena Activities.
- Skates are required to be worn by all patrons while on the main ice surface.
- Formal organized coaching is not permitted during drop-in sessions. Rental time can be booked for coaching/lessons.
- Food or beverages are not permitted on the ice. Plastic water bottles are permitted.
- Please report any concerns without delay to the Arena Operator.
Stick & Puck:
- For individual practice - no organized shinny or group coaching permitted.
- Certified Hockey Helmets (CSA standard) are MANDATORY for all ages. Under 18’s are required to wear full gear: skates, neck guard, hockey pants, support cup, hockey gloves, shin/elbow/shoulder pads, and regulation hockey stick. . Adults 18+ require a helmet and gloves at all times.
- Sign in time is 30 minutes prior to the session start time.
Players must be physically present in order to sign in.
- "Age" is the player’s age on the date of sign-in - no exceptions.
- 7 & under years of age:
- an adult may be on the ice or in the player’s box for supervision.
- 8-11 years of age:
- an adult may be on the ice surface if the child requires assistance, but children will be given priority for places in the session to spend time on the ice.
- *NEW! Family Stick & Puck:
- Designed to give parents the opportunity to work on passing, puck control and skating with their children - active participation required from an adult (18+) for every child/youth aged 17 and under. (Max 4 kids with each adult).
Shinny:
- NO body checking allowed. NO slap shots.
- Maximum 24 Players, 4 Goalies
- All Participants MUST be considerate of other players and allow everyone equal playing time.
- Full hockey equipment required: skates, neck guard, hockey pants, support cup, hockey gloves, shin/elbow/shoulder pads, and regulation hockey stick.
- Certified hockey helmets (CSA Standard) are MANDATORY with full-faced mask for all patrons 17 years and under.
- Sign in time is 30 minutes prior to the session start time (45 minutes for Adult shinny).
- Players must be physically present in order to sign in.
- "Age" is the player’s age on the date of sign-in - no exceptions.
- 12-14 years of age
- 15-17 years of age
- Adult 18+
- Open Shinny (all ages)
Public Skating:
- Certified hockey helmets (CSA Standard) are REQUIRED when on the ice for ALL skaters (including ADULTS). Bike helmets are not permitted.
- No Sticks and Pucks on the ice during Public Skates.
Leisure Ice:
- Available daily for drop-in during Operating hours.
- Pay to play: a facility wristband is required for access.
- No Sticks or Pucks allowed (the Leisure ice is surrounded by glass windows).
- Certified hockey helmets (CSA Standard) are REQUIRED when on the ice for ALL skaters (including ADULTS). Bike helmets are not permitted.
Drop-In Fitness Classes (January to December 2025)
Checking-In for your Class:
- TLC Members with RFID wristbands - no need to stop at the front desk! You may proceed directly to the class location.
- TLC Members or Pass holders without an RFID wristband, please scan your TLC card at the front desk to receive your daily admission Wristband, then proceed to the class location.
- Participants without a TLC Pass or Membership, please pay for your daily admission wristband at the front desk, and then proceed to the class location.
Afternoon Step | January 7 to June 24: Tuesdays 1:15-2:15pm
A 60-minute cardio class that strengthens and shapes the whole body one step at a time. Energetic music and choreography create an enjoyable class for all fitness levels.
Benefit Thru Resistance | January 6 to June 27: Mondays and Fridays 10:30-11:15 AM & 11:30 AM-12:15 PM | Wednesdays 10:30-11:30 AM
A resistance training and cardio program designed to help older adults develop balance, muscle strength, heart health, and core stability and aids in preventing osteoporosis.
Chisel & Stretch | January 7 to June 24: Tuesdays & Thursdays 8:30-9:30 AM
A strength class focusing on total body toning using a combination of stability balls, tubing, free weights, body resistance and flexibility training. An hour and a half spent, not a minute wasted.
Drop-In Spin | January 6 to June 23: Mondays 6:00-6:30 PM
This 30-minute multilevel class is designed to take you through hills and drills that will improve cardiovascular strength and muscular endurance. No experience is necessary, and it is great for all fitness levels!
Lunchtime Drop-in Spin & Core | January 9 to June 24: Thursdays 12:15-1:00 PM
Get your daily cardio fix during your lunch time. Burn some calories and enjoy the 30 min ride! For those who have some extra time, tag on 15 mins of target CORE! No experience necessary, this class is great for all fitness levels!
Maximum Training | January 7 to June 26: Tuesdays & Thursdays 5:30-6:30 PM
An energizing class combining aerobic, anaerobic, strength and power exercises. Every class features a unique circuit-style workout that you can complete at your own pace. Come enjoy the fun!
Step & Strength | January 6 to June 27: Mondays & Fridays 9:00-10:00 AM
A 60-minute cardio class that strengthens and shapes the lower body one step at a time. Energetic music and choreography create an enjoyable class for all fitness levels!
Zumba™ | January 8 to June 25: Wednesdays 5:30-6:30 PM
This popular fitness class incorporates several dance styles including cumbia, merengue, salsa, reggaeton, mambo, rumba, flamenco, and calypso. The catchy Latin music includes fast and slow rhythms allowing for a great cardio workout and fabulous body sculpting.
Everything Fitness | January 11 to June 21: Saturdays 10:30-11:30 AM
This class has it ALL! Each week is different fitness style - come start your weekend off right with something new each week.

This class is a different type of workout in the water where the body is totally suspended, allowing for no impact and a greater range of motion. Come experience an invigorating class that will get your heart pumping and muscles working with a greater variety of movements.
Shallow Water High-Intensity AquaFit | January 6 to June 27 - Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays 8:00-8:45 AM & 9:00-9:45 AM (9:00 AM class ends June 13)
Get yourself running, hopping, skipping and jumping through the water. A high-intensity workout will get your heart pumping, muscles working against the resistance of the water and leave you feeling invigorated and ready for anything.
High-Intensity AquaFit | January 6 to June 25 - Mondays/Wednesdays 7:15-8:00 PM
Expect an invigorating class in the water utilizing a variety of movements to get your heart rate up and your muscles working hard against the resistance of the water.
Deep Water Gentle AquaFit | January 7 to May 8 - Tuesdays & Thursdays 9:00-9:45 AM
Using music that is easy on the ears and movements that are gentle on the joints, you will leave this class feeling happy and rejuvenated.
