Our projected opening dates for the pool are Friday, May 16th, and Friday, May 30th, for the Spray Park.
The Stony Plain Public Outdoor Swimming Pool has been making a splash in the community for 53 years! We are thrilled to operate the Outdoor Pool again in partnership with the Town of Stony Plain.

The Spray Park’s projected opening date is Friday, May 30th.There is no charge to use the Spray Park, however please note that it is not actively supervised by lifeguards.

WADING POOL*:

AQUAFIT
AquaFit classes at the Stony Plain Outdoor Pool are invigorating and fun! Using a variety of movements to get your heart rate up and your muscles working hard against the resistance of the water, you will leave this class feeling happy and rejuvenated.
Change rooms/showers will be available for use as usual.
We are happy to announce that this season, we will continue to offer multiple Aquafit options! Aquafit will run Tuesday/Thursday evenings from 7:00 to 9:00 PM

WEATHER:
We must clear the pool in extreme weather (lightning, air quality, thunderstorms). According to legislation, we must wait 30 minutes before re-entering the pool after the last sound of thunder or the sight of lightning.
Lessons
We will not have lessons in under 10-degree weather. Your TLC/SPOP account will be credited for any missed lesson program.
Closures due to weather will be posted on the SPOP Facebook page.
Rentals
Rentals will commence in all weather conditions except if the pool is closed due to inclement weather (namely, thunder, lightning, or poor air quality).
A credit may be applied to your rental if we close the pool due to extreme weather (Please see our rental information on our the rental page).

Air Quality
We use a real-time air quality map to determine the air quality at the pool. It can be accessed at this website: Real-Time Air Quality Map | PurpleAir. If the air quality is at a 7 (high risk) or higher, the pool will be closed until the air quality level has improved. The decision to reopen the pool will be based on a consistent air quality level that is below 7.
