The Alberta Mine Safety Association and Westmoreland LLC are proud to co-host the 41st Annual Mine Rescue Competition on June 8, 2024 at the Tri Leisure Centre in Spruce Grove, Alberta.
Mine Rescuers are an elite group of individuals equipped with specialized skills and training, dedicated to rescuing miners and others in the event of mining incidents at workplaces.
Competing Mine Rescue teams from across Alberta will demonstrate their rescue techniques to vie for the top spot and the respect of their peers. This competition serves as a platform for the public, industry, and the Province to showcase the current capabilities of mine rescue operations.
The competition events are FREE for spectators to watch and are a fascinating insight into the world of Mine Rescue.
- First Aid, Rope & Recover, Spare and Main Events events will be held from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Fire and Search & Rescue events will be held at the Spruce Grove Fire grounds from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
- Awards Banquet: 6:30 PM - 1:00 AM
