The TransAlta Tri Leisure is happy to announce that repairs on the Leisure Pool will begin in mid-December and have been scheduled to have minimal impact on the rest of the Aquatic Centre. The work on the pool is planned to start on the evening of December 12 and is anticipated to take a few weeks to complete.
The Leisure pool (and slide) were closed when a leak was discovered on October 2 during a maintenance check. The pool’s infrastructure made it hard to determine the leak’s source, and the TLC maintenance team worked with industry experts and engineers to determine the best course of action.
"We appreciate the community’s patience with the Leisure pool closure and understand that it took longer than expected to find the leak and come up with a plan for repair that will minimize any further impact on our operations," said Lenny Richer, General Manager of the TLC.
Most of the repairs are planned to be done outside operating hours. Barring any unforeseen issues, the Leisure pool and slide should be open early in the New Year.
"If everything goes according to plan, we expect to have the Leisure pool open for the upcoming swim lesson sets booked for early January," said Richer.
